Did You Know There Are Different Types of Dog Trainers?

The Spectrum of Dog Training Philosophies

When it comes to dog training, trainers often fall into distinct categories, each with its own approach and philosophy:

The Different Dog Trainers In The Industry

Why I Am Different: Ethical, Results-Based Training

I do not fit neatly into any of these categories. My philosophy as an ethical, results-based trainer places me between the balanced and the force-free communities. I believe in setting our dogs up for success, aiming for them to succeed and receive rewards 80 to 90% of the time. However, I also recognise that the remaining 10 to 20% may require consequences to actions, applied in a fair and measured way.

I do not limit my toolbox to any single doctrine but prioritise methods that avoid harshness, focusing instead on achieving results through understanding and respect. This approach ensures the welfare of both the dog and the owner, promoting a training environment where positive results are obtained without compromising ethical standards.

Ethical-Results Based Training ©: Our Core Approach

At the heart of our training method is the relationship between the dog and its owner. We build on mutual respect and understanding, which enhances the training process and contributes to more meaningful and lasting results. Before any training or behavioural modification takes place, we implement to target holistic factors as well as, focus and engagement strategy to strengthen the bond between the owner and the dog. This not only makes the training more effective but also ensures it is a rewarding experience for both.
